Last weekend it was the perfect weather for taking the kids for their first skiing experience. In hindsight, it would have been a happier experience and maybe more productive if we’d left a little earlier in the day. However, you know how it goes with kids!
We got to Beaver Creek Ski Resorts around 2:30pm, right in the midst of this bunny festival thing they were having. There were like a million people there and it was more than a little distracting for Tasha, who had one mini-run down a minute slope (if you can even call it that). She was in a silly mood and couldn’t stop looking at all the other people, so I don’t know that she learned much, but at least she got the feel of wearing skiis.
Kevin, on the other hand, has tremendous balance and hopped on the skiis and kept his balance and his skiis straight and did one great little run down the mini-slope we had chosen. Unfortunately, he was too tuckered out by all the excitement to want to do it again. So, instead we went back down and enjoyed free cookies and hot chocolate (with marshmellows, real whipped cream and sprinkles) and picked up some chocolate bunnies and furry bunny ears. We now have enough ears for a whole bunny family, just in case….you know, we need them for something. 😉
