New Glasses!

Tasha has needed a new prescription for quite a while and since she’s had her current glasses for 3 years and would probably be outgrowing them soon, we decided to find some new frames. She found these pink ones and loved them! Not only are they bright pink, but they have hearts on the arms and are “High School Musical” brand. Best of all, they were one of the cheapest pairs at Costco! Win win!

The only thing about them is Ammon and I think they add a few years onto her age…making her like 7 or 8…

Curly Sue

Last summer, I finally attempted rag-curls on Tasha’s hair. Her hair does NOT hold a curl with an iron, so I thought maybe the rag-curls would work and they did! Unfortunately, though she looked adorable, by the time I got home from church, she had a wet comb to it and it was a big mess. I didn’t get to take a picture of the end result.

Here was the before pic from the summer:

Tasha Moment

Today I was lamenting that I had to make the bed and didn’t want to. Tasha said “I’ll help you, Mom!”. I took her up on her offer and while she was changing the pillowcase on her Daddy’s pillow, she commented:

” This pillow has love in it.”

“What do you mean?” I asked

“Because Daddy sleeps on it”, she replied.

My heart was a big puddle of meltyness right about then!

Angel….not today!

Remember that post about how sweet and angelic Annika was the other day…well, although she’s still sweet and will always be my little angel…not so angelic today. In one day, she managed to destroy every edible thing I put in front of her, managing always to mess up the carpet we just vacuumed and soiling her newly changed clothes. She tore a page out of library book, spilled water all over the floor and couch and toys, NUMEROUS TIMES, played with a forgotten poopy diaper (from this morning) and got it all over her hands, spread about 50 card games all over the family room floor and just generally was a menace. Is she still the cutest thing ever? You betcha! But today, she needs to take a page out of Kevin’s book. He who has been mysteriously and amazingly helpful and obedient lately….

Memorable Moments

So, although most of this blog has been about our kids and our family goings-on, I try not to be braggy about the kids. I hope I’ve succeeded so far. Sure, I’m proud of my kids and I love them to bits and I think they’re wonderful, but I don’t want to make anyone feel sick from reading about it. This however…is not one of those posts.

Annika is ADORABLE! Like the sweetest thing since chocolate ice cream. She is our little snuggle-bug, our miniature comedienne and our little angel. She really has just the most angelic little personality, unless she’s in a car, that is…Anyways.

The other day I just had one of those, “I’m in love with my child” days…

First, I needed to take a shower and hoping to occupy her while I was in there, I put some of her toys and books in my bathroom for her to play with. She had other ideas. I come out of the shower to see her trotting back in my bathroom with a basket-full of her shoes. She proceeds to sit down and examine each one, holding it up to her foot. =)

Second, we’re going from the car to the post office in the most beautiful snowfall, with the HUGEST snowflakes. Annika hasn’t really been out in the snow when it’s been falling very much, so I told her it was snow, “look at the snow” I’m saying to her. She starred in awe at the snow, trying to grab it. When we came out I said “look at all the pretty snow, isn’t it pretty?” She responded, “Ditty No”. Now, this may not seem like a big thing to you, but it was cute the way she said it and plus, she hasn’t put two words together before!

Lastly, we got home from running our errands and all of sudden, she starts crawling around on the floor arfing and panting like a dog, stopping momentarily to eat something off the floor…like a dog! It was the best!

Warning….rude, but funny post below

Last night at the dinner table, Kevin passed some gas (rather audibly) and giggled, “Hey Mom…my bum burped!!!!” I tried my best to keep my composure, but to no avail and when he repeated his epiphany to Ammon, it was doubly as funny. We stopped trying to hide it and had a good laugh! Oh Kevin! =)
