Annika had her 4th birthday party a few weeks ago……ok, it was a month ago, but still. She loves anything pink and since we have 4 pinkalicious books, I figured it was a safe theme to go with. It was actually a Pinkalicious Pajama Party! How’s that for alliteration ;0 We started off with breakfast: strawberry lemonade, whole wheat pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream and fresh raspberries.
(my walls are actually sage, not minty like they look in this picture)
The very pink table
All the girls….and Kevin (I know he’s not following the theme…he’s wearing red pj’s)
After breakfast, we played some pink games like: green, green, pink (duck, duck, goose) and which pink thing is missing from the tray…very complicated games 😉
Getting ready for presents
Pinkeriffic cuppy cakes
Time to take the party outside!
Showing our true selves!
Every Monday night, we gather together as a family and spend quality time together focusing on a specific value or principle, such as: prayer or honesty. We sing a song, have a prayer, a short lesson and then we do something fun to go with our theme and of course, we have a treat! A few Monday’s ago we were talking about prayer and our activity was to make a “prayer rock”. It’s a rock that you make all pretty and put it on your pillow in the morning so you remember to pray before you sleep at night. The kids LOVE to paint, probably because it’s messy. Kids love anything that’s messy or has the potential to be messy. Or even anything that SOUNDS messy….you get the point.
Getting all painty!
Ammon and his mini-me (a.k.a. Kevin)
The start of Tasha’s rock
While the family was here..we went on a stroll through the woods….which ended up being a bush-whacking experience. Two of our kids decided to need to use the bathroom halfway through our walk, so we had to take a short-cut through the woods/bushes. We had a good laugh about it and then had a few little photo ops before dinner.
Are they not the most photogenic subjects?
Loving on Rocky
Cute little girl cousins
I LOVE this one! Aren’t they pretty?
So, the weekend that Tasha was baptized would also be the only time our whole family would be together probably until Thanksgiving. Which is why, us girls devised a surprise party for Lee’s 60th birthday. He was surprised alright, considering it was three months early! He even got to be king for a day.
The grandkids and “the king”
An all-out potato bar
The sorta camo…didn’t turn out quite how I’d pictured, but oh well.
Playing “pin the beard on the Papa”
The birthday king with all of his adoring (and adorable) grandkids
So, I take a few pictures with my iPhone now and then….but I always forget to put them up here. Here you have some random photos from Spring break until yesterday (with captions so you know what you’re looking at!):
I thought this was so cute how they were resting their heads together while they slept on our drive =)
Kevin being cute in my sunglasses
Our VERY patient dog
Did I mention, he’s patient?
Fun application on my iPhone…isn’t he scary?

Red, white and blue at the old-fashioned 4th of July in Ouray
A camel in the mountains?!
Every Thursday from July-August we went to the summer reading program at our local library and then headed out for an afternoon of sun and sand at our reservoir. The kids played with their friends, while the Moms chatted. This year wasn’t the greatest weather-wise (we got rained out at least 3 weeks in a row), but we had a great time when we did get to go.
Annika’s birthday at Denny’s
The gang for lunch…not a great photo, but it’s a memory anyway
Free birthday sundae! Score! And you bet she ate it allllll!
This was their starting and ending pose for their “show” that they put on for Ammon and I. Notice Kevin’s “guitar” on the left…(aka: lightsaber)
We went to a wedding reception last night and Tasha had her first dance! Aren’t they cute?
