Ok. December was awesome! I really scaled down on any sort of volunteering and event participation, which may sound really selfish, but truly it was the best possible thing for our family and for me. Instead of feeling flustered and rushed and frustrated, I was able to focus on the Savior and spend important and much needed time with my family making wonderful memories. As a family, I felt that our Christmas season was filled with more peace and was much more spiritual than ever before.
This is a just a funny one…you see my best friend there….no, not Rocky, I mean the vacuum! Her name is Rosie (like in the Jetson’s!). Anyways, Ammon heard her making a weird noise when she was vacuuming. He came out to find that Rosie had sucked up Rocky’s tail. The best part was that Rocky didn’t even care, or seem to notice. He just sat there with his tail all sucked up!
Lots of Christmas baking going on! Tasha made these by herself!
Kevin got a little crazy while making frosting
Ammon made chocolate-covered sour cherry balls! SO GOOD!
Helping with brown sugar shortbread
Decorating sugar cookies
Annika trying on some fabric we were buying to make her and angel costume for our church nativity…Unfortunately, she had a stomach bug that night and never ended up going.
Of course, we had to make a gingerbread house!
A couple of hams!
We went on a drive to deliver Christmas goodies and were pretty bushed, so we went to the True Grit for dinner. The movie with John Wayne was filmed in Ridgway/Ouray, so this place was named after it, full of John Wayne stuff.
Our Christmas Eve picnic
Apparently, Ammon is the only one who knows how to properly take a selfie, since he’s the only one looking at the camera. Oh well!
Ammon and I found Kevin like this on Christmas morning. Totally passed out on the couch. When he woke up, he told us that we had said he could get up at any time to open his stocking. So…he got up at 2 am and opened his stocking, ate half his goodies, read a book and crashed on the couch. Hilarious!
Someone was happy with her beanbag chair on Christmas morning!
Julina and a friend came to visit the weekend after Christmas and we had a great time visiting and did some sledding on a crazy hill!
Someone had a blast in the snow!
We managed to actually be at home depot when they had their kids workshop. Kevin and Annika made wooden sleds, while Tasha waited patiently.
